To kick off our first Thank You Thursday, today I’m featuring an event I had the honor of planning for the United Way of Greater St. Louis’ Tri-Cities Area Division. I’m a major supporter of the United Way and truly believe in their mission of helping people live their best possible lives. 1 in 3 people in our region utilize services through this non-profit agency. This includes counseling, crisis response, education, adoption, health care, legal services, and many other resources. Each year, the organization has a fundraising campaign which helps bring in money for all of their partner agencies, which total 170 in St. Louis. Awesome fact: STL is home to the 18th largest United Way, but our region ranks #5 for giving in the country. Add that to the list or reasons why I love this city of generous people.
When I was asked to help with planning, I was sold when they told me it was a fundraising event centered around WINE! We had great support from the community and raised a lot of money. Guests enjoyed wine, beer, vodka, and several culinary treats from local restaurants and all had fun networking and hearing more about this wonderful cause.
Special thanks to our vendors: Jolene & the staff at Schnucks (Presenting Sponsor), Mastermind Vodka, Jacobsmeyer’s, Jerry’s Cafe, El Torero, Wertz Beverage Illinois, Chick Fritz Distributor, Koerner Distributor, Garden Gate Tea Room, the Elks, and Ravanelli’s

Major thanks to the United Way staff: Debbie, Maura, Natasha, Abby, Orv, Millie, and Dayna. Also thanks to our incredible committee and volunteers including Joe, Cindy, Erin, Katie, Gene, Adam, Charlie, Daryl, Nancy, Paul, Jeff, Vonzetta & Larry. And to our guests, we value your support of United Way and appreciate your pledges & donations.
We raised thousands of dollars & are on track to meet our goal of 1.2 million for the 2014 campaign to continue helping people live their best possible lives. If you’d like to be involved with United Way, comment below, or follow this link to find out more about this awesome organization!
